Parking spaces overtaken by mini parks (aka Parklets) are everywhere in SF these days. A larger smattering of greenery and playful architecture would do a lot to bring a sense of community and life to Oakland’s downtown streets. The trend has caught on and we’ve seen some evidence of it in Oakland but not quite at the caliber that exists across the bay. Let’s hope for more of them in the months to come.
